Introducing CHESI
Hi Everyone! Welcome to CHESI. I'm Heather, the owner here and I'm so excited to start this blog so we can have one more way to connect and share news, styling tips, product updates, and more with you. To start this new blog journey, I wanted to first introduce CHESI to those who aren't familiar and give a little summary of who we are, what we sell, and why we do it.
CHESI is a woman-owned, AAPI brand that sells hand-crafted sterling silver jewelry made with hypoallergenic materials. Our brand was founded by myself, Heather, with the support of my husband, Johnny in 2022. CHESI is inspired by my late dad, who has always encouraged me to start my own business one day.
The name, CHESI was formed by spelling out the Korean pronunciation of Mr. Choi or I'm a Choi, which sounds like "che-shee". To break it down, Choi in Korean sounds like "Che", and "ssi" means Mr/Mrs/Ms. I put the sounds together and created CHESI. It's a way of paying homage to my late dad.
I have a background in fashion and e-commerce and have always had a love for jewelry and accessories since I was a kid, which led me to the idea of starting a jewelry brand. I knew when brainstorming for my ideal brand, I wanted to provide my customers with cool yet minimal pieces they could wear over and over, all year round, made with high-quality materials. 925 Sterling Silver is the material I ultimately decided on because it's affordable yet high-quality and can be worn for a lifetime when it's properly taken care of.

RoHS Certified -- Tested all materials for harsh chemicals (lead, cadmium, mercury along with many others) and are compliant with RoHS guidelines.
Ethical Workplace Conditions -- All of our manufacturers provide safe working conditions for employees with proper pay.
Quality Check - All of our silver jewelry is hand-crafted and individually checked for flaws by our manufacturers as well as our team before they are shipped out to you.

What exactly is 925 sterling silver?
CHESI jewelry is made with 925 Sterling Silver, which basically means the material is made up of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% of other alloys. Pure silver would be too soft so you need other alloys like copper to make the jewelry more durable to wear.
All of our jewelry is made with hypoallergenic materials so they are nickel, cadmium, and lead-free, making them perfect for sensitive skin types.
Some of our jewelry is also plated with Rhodium which gives the silver an extra layer of protection from scratches and normal wear. You'll also notice its beautiful, slightly darker hue as well.

Starting something is never easy and there are always a ton of risks and reasons not to do something but I learned through my experience so far, that it's all worth it when you love what you do and take every experience good and bad as a learning one and not a failure.
